Andy J. DeVries’ involvement with the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids represents decades of leadership, mentorship, friendship, and unwavering commitment to the Rotary principle of “Service Above Self.”

Over the years, Andy has served the organization in numerous leadership roles, including Past President of the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids, Assistant District Governor, Foundation Board Member, committee chair, mentor, and community advocate. Through his leadership, he helped strengthen Rotary’s impact throughout West Michigan while supporting initiatives focused on youth development, education, community service, and charitable outreach.

One of Andy’s most meaningful contributions to Rotary was helping establish and lead the STRIVE mentoring program, which focused on encouraging and supporting high school students as they prepared for graduation, higher education, and future careers. Mentorship and investing in young people became a defining theme throughout his Rotary journey and broader life of service.

Andy also played a major role in Rotary fundraising and charitable efforts, serving for many years as chair of the Rotary Golf Committee and helping support projects and initiatives benefiting the local community. His commitment to service extended beyond meetings and events — he became known as someone who quietly built relationships, encouraged others, and consistently stepped forward wherever leadership and support were needed.

His dedication to Rotary and the community has been recognized through numerous honors, including becoming a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, reflecting his extraordinary commitment to Rotary’s mission and values.

For Andy, Rotary was never simply an organization — it was a lifelong opportunity to serve others, build lasting friendships, mentor future leaders, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people throughout West Michigan. His legacy within Rotary continues through the countless individuals, students, families, and organizations impacted by his leadership and generosity.
