Andy J. DeVries has spent a lifetime dedicated to education, mentorship, leadership, and community service throughout West Michigan. His impact spans decades of involvement in Rotary, youth development, charter school leadership, athletics, parks and recreation, historic preservation, and civic engagement.
A longtime leader within the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids, Andy has served as Club President, Assistant District Governor, Foundation Board Member, mentor, and community advocate while embodying the Rotary principle of “Service Above Self.” His commitment to young people helped shape the success of Excel Charter Academy and Grand River Preparatory High School, where his leadership contributed to expanding educational opportunities for countless students and families.
Beyond education, Andy has devoted years of service to organizations including the Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Commission, the Gerald R. Ford Council of Scouting America, Camp Roger, the YMCA, and numerous athletic officiating associations across Michigan. He also helped lead the restoration and preservation of historic Sullivan Field through his work as Co-Founder and President of Fans of Valley Field.
Through every role, Andy’s leadership has been defined by humility, integrity, mentorship, and a deep commitment to strengthening the lives of others. His legacy is reflected not only in the organizations he helped build, but in the generations of people and communities positively impacted by his service.

This website was created to preserve and celebrate the life, leadership, service, and legacy of Andy J. DeVries — a man whose impact has been felt across generations throughout West Michigan and beyond.
Through education, mentorship, Rotary, athletics, community leadership, historic preservation, and countless acts of quiet service, Andy has dedicated his life to helping others succeed and strengthening the communities around him.
This site serves as a living archive of his journey — capturing stories, memories, milestones, photographs, videos, interviews, accomplishments, and the people whose lives have been touched by his work. More importantly, it exists so future generations — family, friends, students, colleagues, and community members — can continue to learn from the values he lived every day: integrity, humility, leadership, faith, service, and commitment to others.
